I was thinking of giving this silly idea up completely, as the anti-picnic forces seem to have been against me from the start. But, I’m going to make a fresh start, and try to tackle this project again.
I’m going to try once more to organize the huge bash that will become known as the Blogger Picnic. Now, I’m writing this kind of spur of the moment at 11:00 or so Thursday night, after being spurred on by Tanya Kristine and Tabitha’s comments on Tabitha’s site. So, at this point, I haven’t yet confirmed that I can reserve the same park as before. I also haven’t yet confirmed that everyone that I want to show up will be able to. Here is a list of who I consider mandatory attendees:
Gabe and Danielle and family
Justin and Stephanie
Rebecca Marie and family
Tabitha and hubby
Breanna and hubby
And of course, Kathy, Billy, Matt, and Lexi.
If at least these folks can’t make it, I will probably give up and try for some other get-together at some other time. Here is a list of attendees that I also very much want to attend if it is at all possible:

I also want to extend this invitation to those friends of mine who read this but are not active bloggers, you know who you are (Jeremy, “Bob McMasterson”, “B”, “S”).
For now, let’s tentatively plan for July 30th. As I can confirm a few more things, I will post more specifics. Please, everyone, help me get the word out, and help me extend a (virtual) invitation to everyone on the list above.

and i am excited to meet everyone in person, esp because tanya and peng are going to DRIVE ALL THE WAY UP HERE!

I will do my darndest to be there with Justin. However, the same problem arises that kept us from being able to attend the last one… other than the fact that it was cancelled. Justin works on Saturday 8-8 so unless it is a late night bash or he magically does not have to work that day, alas I shall remain home.

Maybe it’s because my comment count has been down thus inflicting
self doubt and so on…but i am like COMPLETELY HONORED to be on
the list of “mandatory attendees.” like to the point of being
moderately emotional about it. THANKS! that’s just the kind of
compliment i needed today. Of course I will be there, and will try
my best to get Ben to go as well (no promises on that though…he’s
a bit shy….they say oposites attract (and by they i obviously mean
Paula Abdul) and they are right in this case!)
I’m SO glad you didn’t give up on the idea. it’s going to be an
AWESOME event!
Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help get everything
in order and such.

OK apparently my sense of time eluded me in my earlier post. Justin is on vacation that week so he will not have to work! So I guess the “magically does not have to work” option came in to play. Justin told me to let you know that that he took the day off especially for the picnic….or he already planned it off weeks ago..whatever makes you feel more special.
