I'm most certainly the expert on this, seeing as how i'm addicted to sleep. not addicted so much as really loyally committed. a few examples:

you know how when you're stressed or in a "bad space" experts tell you to close your eyes and go to your "special place?" and most normal people envision a beach or the mountains or the chinese buffet....me? i (honestly) close my eyes and imagine the perfection that is turning from your back to your side, tangled in your warm and cozy duvet...that is heaven on earth.

two: i have not only the snooze disease, but the script to go with it. it goes something like this "i need to get up now to have the time to do my hair properly. buuuut...i feel sooo good...maybe i can do the 'wind swept' look...but then again, that's what i did yesterday, and people are going to start to wonder. i mean, i'm a professional now, i've got to rise to the occassion...alright, one more round of snooze, then i'll get up" and on and on until i'm rolling out of bed 10 minutes before i have to leave.

a word about weekend sleeping. yes please. every weekend. it doesn't matter if i go to bed at 9pm or 1am...i'm staying in bed until i wake up naturally, for the 5th time (cause if i wake up at 10, i'm forcing myself back to sleep). thankfully my husband recongnizes how important this is, and doesn't give me a hard time about it.

sorry for the diatribe...this is obviously something i'm very passionate about...

I have always been a light sleeper. When the kids were babies, Bill used to laugh at me because I would get up at the sound of them rolling over in their crib. (But, the crib was down the hall in another room).

Now, that I know you have been doing the snooze thing on purpose you will be kicked harder and more often.

i have one of those little portable, battery operated alarm clocks (1. because they use batteries and that leaves less things to plug in 2.because i don't have to reset the time on it everytime the power goes out or i accidentally unplug it, etc 3. because i took it to europe with me and plan to do so again) so, when it goes off at 6:45am, i just hold it under my pillow and snooze it over and over. since it is under my pillow, my husband can't hear it and it doesn't bother him.
on the other hand, he works at starbucks and when he has to open, he has to get up at 3:45am. he sets the alarm on the other side of the room uber loud so that when it goes off, he jumps out of bed, crawls over me and rushes to turn it off. i think part of the motivation for him to get out of bed so fast is to keep from waking me up with snoozing, but the jumping over me thing sort of ruins that . . .
and, why is it that i could sleep forever on a weekday, but as soon as it is the weekend my eyes pop open at 7am?

I like snooze, but since I have NO self control, I hate it...

I will hit snooze over and over again, without even realizing it...

I normally wake up at 6:00a, and there have been several times, when I have hit snooze to the point of being late for work (I look at the alarm clock to see that it is 7:05a, not 6:00a)...

Anyway...

the snooze alarm is God's gift to the sleep lover. seriously. i always snooze at least twice. it's a sickness. and, i don't even make my bed because i like to climb into a rumpled comfy bed at night. like i had juuuuust gotten out of it.
