… a woman who’s not afraid to follow through on a long-time desire, even if it is scary and painful. Case in point: Kathy got a tattoo! She totally rocks.

AWESOME!!! Funny, I just spent a bit of yesterday at a tattoo parlor, me own self. I was moral support for my sister, Janni Laine. She’s all inked up. I’m getting a toe ring soon! We are all the coolest. Go on with your bad self, Kathy! Where’d you go to have it done?

I went to Adorn Body Art in Beaverton. A gentlemen named Drat did it and was great.

I enlarged it, his detail work is wonderful. Good for you! Don’t you love the names of tattoo artists? Hee hee. The filling in ain’t bad, it’s the straight lines that are a killer, eh?

yes but, please talk about the pain for me. i’ve been dying to get a tat, but i’m terrified of little needles contantly pricking me over and over and over . . .

It’s really not horrid. I’ve heard people say it’s like a bee sting, I think it’s less. The filling in is not bad at all, not pleasant certainly, but not horrid. The outlining, and any straight lines are the tough part. Kinda feels like they put the needle into your skin and then just drag it down the line.

Honestly, I was terrified. My friend went with me and she watched the whole thing. At first, I was startled because I didn’t know what to expect. After about 2-3 minutes I started to relax. Then, it was more irritating than anything else almost like a sunburn. On a scale of 1-10 I would put it at about a 2.
